HIPPYVALLEY
Nice to wake up to some snow. Looks like .25" or so on the cars. Not fluff though. More like baking powder. 8/4.

MarkO
7" new up at the cabin, Surprised to see that much as we were only at about 2.5" when I went to bed. 14.8/13. Going to be a great powder day today! This stuff has got to be 30:1 (or even less) density snow.

Clinch Leatherwood
Oceanwx, the velocity data last night was epic. That image you posted was too cool. Dynamics of that system were nuts
Baroclinic Zone
just made the edge, even half mile down the street was about 3/4 inch less It came together nicely. I heard my text beep go off and it was Matt/Brett saying it was snowing. Woke me up. Stayed up through just about the whole band. Right now these kind of events are perfect. Low impact but drop high fluff factor. I see the slant-sticker was out again in Lunenburg. 4.0" LOL.

Was up at 330am and we only had a dusting. About 10min later it was dumping. Ended with 4". Old Standish stomping grounds claim 9". Maybe we'll pick up an inch with the frontal passage. Lava Rock
I thought for sure this snow would have had some moisture with it since it was ~20F, yet it's probably the fluffiest snow all winter. How come?

HimoorWx
2+ of pure fluff. Couldn't believe they plowed our street. Fortunately I could back right thru the pile at the end of the driveway. All trees completely white on the drive to the train; must not have been any wind.

How come? These are usually fluff bombs. We had strong lift smack dab in the DGZ in these bands...sfc temps don't matter for ratios unless you have melting at the sfc. MainePhotog
4.25" snowfall total. Will the low that's to swing through the GOM this afternoon bring anymore snow back this way today?
Cold Miser
So what does that game have to do with winter that year? Wasn't that a good snowy winter up here regardless? I was in DC at the time but remember coming back up here to some pretty massive snowbanks if I recall. Maybe I'm thinking the year after.
