Ginx snewx
weenie flurries in Melrose, Ma Hi Res nam likes to get a batch of S-/S going over E-C Mass from like 5-midnight then lift that NE'ish. Seems separate from the Norlun which doesn't seem exceptionally impressive. I don't really think SNE sees advisory ...but I do see this as not being the typical Norlun especially in CNE there are separate dynamics at work here, the absolute definition Norlun, waa snows, ULL snow, instability Windex squalls, should be a fun 48 hrs with the Arctic hounds screaming all night too. dendrite
NAM looked a little better here...hoping for at least 3-4" of fluff to cover the cruddy snowbanks.

jamesnichols89
18z NAM brings the .75-1.0" of QPF line just about 10 miles off the coast of the Outer Cape National Seashore. NAM actually develops the surface low much quicker now than previous forecasts from the American models. This allows the CCB to actually develop much quicker and actually clip Cape Cod. jamesnichols89
Looks like the CCB will be very close to the Outer Cape tonight into tomorrow morning. NAM and HIRES NAM clip this area with the heaviest snows.
wxeyeNH
Really fascinating to watch this evolve. It's been clear up here all day and got up to 30F. Even now (4:40pm) its still clear, calm and a beautiful late afternoon. Guess this will come in very quickly unlike the normal storm system with high clouds lowering slowly. jamesnichols89
Second shortwave is off the coast now and models are beginning to show more separation between the second and third shortwaves allowing more ridging ahead of the third shortwave and a more compact H5 level. jamesnichols89
GFS does not budge and instead is further north than the NAM with the redevelopment of the surface low Therefore there is no QPF to be had over SNE.

TalcottWx
Well, it's a little further west than I thought it would make it. Models wanted this band to blossom and pretty much speed up to the north. It's made more westward progress. You can see the convergence nicely on mesoanalysis.
