I just posted the nam and Rgem above... Where the hell do any of you see EIGHT INCHES OF SNOW??? EXCEPT western NJ

Breathe.  In this kind of setup, slight variance of a few inches on clown maps is not unusual.  This thing's moisture laden.  Somebody is going to get 8 or 9 inches from this.  You have to avoid reading maps verbatim.

It's not like we're talking a 8-12 on one map and a 2-4 on the other.  It's like a 1-2 inch spread.

Final Call for NYC - 2-4", debated 1-3" but I think 2-4" is quite possible

Will be great to see some moderate to heavy snow during daylight hours.  Was annoying with many of the storms coming overnight!

RGEM has that this afternoon. Several hours of moderate to heavy snow and then a change to ice and then some rain later on with the freezing line just to the north of the area.

Probably a good idea to shovel later this evening so as not to shovel heavy wet cake-like cement tomorrow.  I really think the icing potential is going to be the thing to watch this evening.  If we get a sustained 2,3,4 hours of icing, it could  be ugly.

Also, NYC precipitation looks similar on both maps. But look at, for example, NW Connecticut and compare the maps. They couldn't be more different. So we either need to look at the overall look and feel of the maps, or we need to microanalyze our back yards.

Some people will prefer 1 map over the other based on their location.

But again, for the City, they look fairly similar.
