mattie g
Hires RGEM I believe. It had it a touch too far south and west, but it was the only model that had anything like it as I recall. That's the one. And maybe it was you that made the comment about believing it as long as it ends up over your house!
Expat
Our band is developing now! ETA: http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=LWX-N0Q-0-48# ETA #2: Or perhaps these are pop ups before the main band?
mattie g
if by localized you mean a multi county area then that would be correct. In general, the areas that were modeled to get a decent amount from it actually got it. I don't believe there was any guidance indicating the entire MA or even LWX area was going to see more than a gusty coating. Here's the LWX PIS. Many locations in a multi county area received 1-4". And for the record, I don't think anyone is indicating that today will be like Saturday. http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=LWX&product=PNS&format=CI&version=34&glossary=0 I look at a map and see it as very localized. I didn't realize that places farther north got about an inch, but those higher totals were confined to a small area. YMMV. And my point about the downsloping areas remains valid, as they're not the only ones who got a dusting.

ACFD FIREMAN
Better to complain about it. Must be...between him and winterwxluvr you'd wonder why they are even posting in this thread. needbiggerboat
funny, if i wasn't flying out this afternoon i'd be concerned we don't get snow from this, but because i'm flying, i'm concerned about raging snowshowers. Can you confirm that you are flying out today? Plane will be OK
snowfan
Any returns near LWX right now are out ahead of the main line. That is still well back in the mountains and won't get here for another 3-5 hours depending on ones exact location. Our band is developing now!
