Kirk Pechette
Is MOS guidance exist from models other than the NAM and GFS? To clarify, in case I am wording it incorrectly or ambiguously, I mean output such as this: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/mos/getall.pl?sta=KTOL
isohume
There is ECMWF short/long range MOS in AWIPS, but I'm not sure where to find these on the internet. You might have to pay for it.
Cajun Thunder
There is ECMWF short/long range MOS in AWIPS, but I'm not sure where to find these on the internet. You might have to pay for it. You won't find it on the internet. It is "experimental data" developed by the Meteorlogical Development Laboratory for NWS forecasters. It is derived from the ECMWF data, but NOT produced by the ECMWF group itself. However, the ECMWF people do control the data. http://www.nws.noaa.gov/mdl/synop/amspapers/Shafer_Rudack_2014.pdf A footnote in the article states... 1 ECMWF data is provided to the National Weather Service for internal use only. ECMWF model data is considered proprietary and confidential. The ECMWF MOS guidance derived from ECMWF data is restricted for internal use only
Kirk Pechette
So apart from NAM and GFS, there is no other guidance publicly available?
Quincy
There is LAMP MOS, but technically that's based off of the GFS, for near-term forecasts. http://www.nws.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/lamp/getlav.pl?sta=KMMK
