KNYC had .11" through 7:00am and 3.0" of snow.

After that, they received another .03" of precip.

Using the same 27 to 1 ratio, KNYC should have recorded at least another .9" of snow for a total of 3.9"

I agree. Assuming that the zookeeper measured when the snow stopped falling, NYC would probably wind up with 3.5"-4.0" snow for the whole event.

All the stations should report 3.5"-4.5" on their 4:30pm climate reports.

But if they waited until then to measure, the low water volumed snow is evaporating and they will all under-report.

 

JFK had .19" liquid. Even using 25 to 1, they should be nearly 5".
