Ian
Guilty as charged. I don't think anybody called for the type of snow growth we've seen. Unusual. Similar but slightly different storm would probably fluff us to death. I'm not very picky either way. Beats the F out of mixed to melty glop. I was just assuming 15:1 at the end myself.. though I felt I was sort of 'guaranteed' 7-8 or so based on that midday today.. and it kinda looks that way for now so I dunno. Whatever. Bob Chill
Mt Airy is getting a good raking right now. Radar looks really nice. Banding taking shape. Not seeing many posts from the folks who declared dryslot/over/cancel.

Intermittent moderate snow surrounding basically light bands.it's been snowing for about 11 and a half hours here and I don't have 5 inches yet, but I still love it. its going to be a great two or three week. Jebman
Get out and shovel soon. Don't let it pile up too much...unless it's a north facing yard or street of course. Then go ahead and leave until spring. Cheers Jeb! I will. You can bet I'm gonna pile it up on the north side of the house, even in this cold. Joshfsu123
we're at that point where even when radar sucks we are doing ok, and when radar looks ok, we are doing better than we were with a similar radar presentation 4 hours ago yep, for sure. Skywalker03
I've stayed positive throughout. It's a great scene out there when you stop worrying about lulls and dryslots and back edges. Matt's faith in the models also helped. Required ob: Snowing nicely now. One more measurement: right under 3 inches in N Rockville.

BTRWx
10-1 so far is my best guess. That should change for the remainder. For a slight off-topic late night banter-esk curiosity, what's the point of having the ratio chart if the surface isn't so important?
