Jebman
Steady snow. Over 4 inches, getting closer to 4 and a half. Wonderful night, nice and cold, looks excellent outside.
caviman2201
Literally glitter falling from the sky in Glen Burnie. I've never seen snow that looked like this.
Scraff
Is it in the realm of possibilities that this extreme cold is actually causing the weak dendrite growth layer? Seems silly, but I have this feeling I may be on to something.
Rhode Islander in Balto
Radar is really improving at this hour in CMD. Around 2.75" in Dundalk, doing pretty well relative to nearby areas, even Essex where Chris was at around 2.2" a bit earlier. Just confirmed 2.5 in Parkville. Met my (albeit low) expectations so far...
DDweatherman
Just confirmed 2.5 in Parkville. Met my (albeit low) expectations so far... Yeah based on radar which doesn't look bad and the rates that have been improving around some parts recently, I'd expect about 5" at the end of this one. Would be a great total. Stormpc
it doesn't look like it so much on radar but it's really snowing hard right now. probably hardest of the event 4.2 inches as of 1230 pm
vinylfreak89
just measured 2.5 taking the dog out for a walk. Thinking will probably top out near 5. Not bad, my bar is beating the previous high storm which was about 3.5 and i pretty solidly think that will happen. Quite a bit of riming mixing in with the pixie dust flakes. Haven't really seen any appreciable dendrites. Also have yet to see the pivot. Wondering if this might just continue with W - E streamers and the CCB never really gets going. Only time will tell. caviman2201
Kind of amazing that this still hasn't eclipsed Saturday's totals in a lot of areas... Saturday being a glorified cold front that started out with temps in the mid-upper 30s...
Eskimo Joe
I'm down at our OPS Center in Gaithersburg. Driving from York, PA to Gaithersburg was dicey...even with extensive plowing operations ongoing there was a good 2" - 3" on I-270.
MDstorm
Moderate snow (best rates of storm....so far). Also, Canadian model for this storm......LOL. MDstorm

BTRWx
There's definitely been a little sleet mixing in at least in the last hour or so. I'm scratching my with that being at 14 degrees at the time!

ravensrule
Rates are really picking up easily the heaviest of the night. Also the first time the flakes are big and fluffy and not sand. Bring it on............. Probably for the next 20 minutes.

SabreAce33
17 degrees and moderate snow here in SBY. About three inches on the ground. Sat outside on the porch for a while. So cold that the bourbon and snow my wife was drinking froze solid.
WEATHER53
12:20, 0.75 viz sn/-sn, 3.1" on ground. You are doing a little better than me as I am at 2.75". Have stayed mostly in the 0.33"ph with occassional 0.5. Not too cold to snow but so far too cold to get 90%rh.

Jebman
The snow is heavier and is steady. I have a bit over 4.5 inches. What a storm! I expected 4 inches. I've passed that and still we have more snow on the way? What can I say but WOW! It's a JOB brooming that snow off of my driveway and it is getting more and more difficult to try and keep up with it. I'd rather sit back on my couch and stuff jelly donuts in my face lmao like a true New Englander lol. J/K lol I might actually be forced to use my shovel. MASSIVE BAND is forming over Maryland - I am very happy for you guys. You WILL get your snow as well. Everyone is gonna cash in.
Ian
Just measured and got anywhere from 3 to 3.5. But rates were definitely up. I'm actually getting among my lowest measurements on cartops which are usually about best. Maybe residual heat from sun thru clouds or something initially. But curbs and trashcan/dumpster tops seem to be all in same neighborhood. My stoop was actually more like 4 but it must be taking some funneling from something or some such. Skywalker03
Coming down pretty well now. May be the best rates of the night in N Rockville. Should be getting close to the 3" mark now.
BTRWx
Can't be sleet. Above freezing in the column is 100's of miles away. There were definitely bouncing particles that snow does not accomplish. Maybe graupel?

Joshfsu123
The radar continues to improve... nice to see it! Small flakes continue but they are coming down at a very nice rate --- sucks that the flakes aren't larger but hoping they can become larger later still. Either way, slowly piling up in Navy Yard area... As of 12:30am, up to 3.9 inches --- nearly the 4 inch mark (likely to reach that by 1am easily). Hoping for another inch or two. I've passed that and still we have more snow on the way? What can I say but WOW! Get out and shovel soon. Don't let it pile up too much...unless it's a north facing yard or street of course. Then go ahead and leave until spring. Cheers Jeb!
