bigjohndc
The echo tops on COD are really blowing up. I surpassed 3 inches finally after the lull. There is a definite ping sound, but rates are picking up. Still think 5.5 or 6 can happen in DC. We need one verified warning this winter. http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=LWX-EET-1-
09-10 analogy
Steady as she goes in upper NW, flake size about the same, 2.5" to 4" measures on grassy, too lazy to go out onto the back porch and get a measure, that would prolly have more integrity. I'm dubious of the zoo 4" but those orangutangs are sticklers for accuracy, so I've been told.

Ian
Alley measurements where I usually go gave me 3.75".. did get a number of 3.5" at 11 though so not sure it's really a .5" last hour, but rates were back up when I was out.

Expat
Kait Parker? No way! lol. It's just that when reporting she seemed so enthusiastic about the snow ratios. Maybe she jinxed it.
dailylurker
Do these stacked plates have something to do with the low development? Seem odd
Scraff
Kait Parker? No way! Kait is hot. She's causing added heat island effect in downtown DC. Man. I bet that wasn't modeled by the Euro.

kurtstack
Well it looks like this storm is gonna verify in terms of qpf. Was very juicy. It's a dense pack now with the stacked plates, graupel, or micro snowballs, whatever term you wish. Best Jebwalk of the year by far.

hosj III
Maybe a little over 3"? I wonder what is causing the graupel. If we had dendrites here we would be in business.

Random Chaos
HRRR definitely fails tonight. The latest run from it shows no snow over us at the current time, with the line in southern maryland. Whoops! Entire area north of there to the Mason Dixon line and most of NOVA are getting snow. DDweatherman
Radar is really improving at this hour in CMD. Around 2.75" in Dundalk, doing pretty well relative to nearby areas, even Essex where Chris was at around 2.2" a bit earlier.
