BaltimoreWxGuy
Radar and banding is looking decent...just a matter of what type of snow/ratio we're gona get. If it remains pixie or grauple type then its not going to pile up, if we can get some nice dendrite then forecast could maybe still verify
Expat
Graupel picking up in intensity again here. I thought that we determined that it was not graupel

dailylurker
I went outside and my light hit the snow. Those funky flat flakes reflect some serious light. Looks like bright glitter. Really cool storm. I'm liking my radar. Keep pumping baby.. this isn't done yet.
kurtstack
I thought that we determined that it was not graupel Rimed flakes, or graupel, it's pretty much the same thing. Little dense snowballs if you want to argue terminoligy.
MacintoshPro
It sucks.... whatever it is. Seems like everywhere around me is getting good flakes while I get crap.

weathervswife
I'm not sure if you'd call it a blackout since it's midnight, but it would definitely be a whiteout 12 hours from now. Giant flakes at incredible rates.

clskinsfan
12ish update: 3.4 inches 12 degrees. Light to Moderate snow. Just went out and sat on my covered deck with a cold Sam Adams in hand. Pure dendrites falling at a decent clip. Not quite moderate. The sound of the flakes hitting the deck railings and the cold were so peaceful. One of the best beers I have had this winter. Talk to ya'll in the morning.
MacintoshPro
I thought you were going to bed? If not, your complaining is probably better suited for the banter thread. I planned on going to bed, but I saw a nice area of precip on the radar and decided to watch it. And yeah my complaining totally should be in the banter thread, but I'm just angry because ratios and snowflake type was supposed to be one of the biggest things we had going for us. BlizzardNole
I've got graupel in Germantown too. Have about 2.5"; 14 degrees. Radar looks like it should be at least mod snow, but just light graupel. I guess the upside is it will be denser and have more staying power on the ground? BaltimoreWxGuy
Essentially about 2 inches here in Essex...maybe 2.1 or 2.2 in some spots. Radar looks OK, but its just not coming down all that well.

Fodie77
5.5" Richmond Should definitely hit my goal of 6-8, but once again the area looks to fall short of expectations (10-14)

hosj III
3" here, same as 11 PM observation. Only period of good rates was 9-10 PM when we picked up .75". IF we could have kept that going all night we would have been in a good place. If this ends up less than 1/6 IMBY it's going to be a total fail.
