MacintoshPro
NBC 4 just said that DOT is unsure of how effective their road treatments will be because of the cold temps. Answer: In N. Arlington we had a ton of salt on the roads, but it stopped working after 30 minutes and now it is snow covered.

Deck Pic
fwiw northern end has done better than expected west so far in general. nice...HI Res Nam doesn't get the "real" snow here until 7 in DC and 8 in Baltimore...euro and GFS were a little more aggressive about getting .10 here by 7pm, which might verify... miller.b.time
It is for me. I've been in that return range almost the entire time it's been snowing, and it's been snowing that whole time. Is it snowing in the 5-10 dbz returns?
dukeblue219
Well, the highlight so far is my building showing up as "breaking news" on NBC4... because a pipe burst in a 9th floor utility closet and made a glacier alllll the way down the side of the building. It's actually a real mess out there right now with about 2" of solid ice on the ground.

Outside of melting what falls, I guess to verify this we would be shooting for about an inch before 7 since ratios right now aren't the really high ratios just yet? NAM was even less, and still gave us 0.5" for the storm...keep in mind this isn't high ratio right now....I think for me and you anything greater than 0.5-0.7" is verification by 7pm....
