Started snowing in Port Jefferson a little after 2:30 PM...in 90 minutes we have had continuous moderate to heavy snow with already 2 new inches (12.5 on the ground...started the day with 10.5 on the ground). Other than the wee hours of the morning of the blizzard...best snow of the season.

tapered down to very light snow got a dusting on the ground. Waiting for another heavy wave. Although I'm not impressed yet, this storm has a lot of ways to potentially bust unless that trough which is currently located in mid PA doesn't spin around and stalls for a few hours around nyc this will be a bust otherwise, but if it does we can easily get 4-6

Yeah not that impressed with the radar ATM over NJ. Will wait to see how it turns up over the next few hours

This is not our main area of snow. This is quickly pushing through over the next 1-2 hours. Then we get a break for a few hours before more comes in from the west and the heavy banding sets up somewhere over our area. Up to an inch from this first area of snow in NJ and maybe 2-4" out over Long Island.....which could really bring their totals to much above many forecasts (I wouldn't doubt a few amounts close to a foot)
