I remember looking at the radar seeing this train of moisture pushing up through nc... Seeing all those yellows on the radar... Thinking to my self... Precip does not train like for winter storms... Its gotta slip off the coast... And nope... It trained and backfilled and then trained and backfilled some more. It wasn't til years later that I learned about the epic and truly anamolous set up that we had for that storm. We had high pressure blocked in over maine and a massive stj. I am not sure what the pattern looks like for next weekend... I am sure it is nothing like 2003... But slow moving heavy snow would certainly be nice.
