AlexP
Sunny here in Lemoyne. If this were summer we would be saying that the atmosphere was getting charged up for big thunderstorms.

NortheastPAWx
Million-dollar question...how does that line look after it clears the mountains? I worry the answer is no better than run of the mill.
kerplunk
Lightning showing north of Tyrone (on RadarScope) - also looks like the SC hole in the frontal band is shaping up very nicely! Or maybe that's result ob being very close to the radar site.

MAG5035
Lightning showing north of Tyrone (on RadarScope) - also looks like the SC hole in the frontal band is shaping up very nicely! I thought I might've heard some faint thunder about 5-10 min ago from that direction, nothing loud though so wasn't completely sure. Just took a fantastic 3 min video, it's a complete whiteout here. AlexP
A friend of mine in Johnstown reported that she could not even see across the street. Man, I hope this survives the trip across the mountains and that everyone stays safe and enjoys the view from a window.
KPITSnow
Up near nemacolin and the squall was one of the more impressive things I've seen..though brief. I will post a video when u get home because having issues from my phone. Still getting squalls with 40 mph gusts.
Mallow
This is affecting me like an incoming severe thunderstorm affects me, not like a snowstorm. My adrenaline is through the roof and it hasn't even started yet.

heavy_wx
Heaviest snow I've seen since I was at Oswego. There was a lot of rimed stuff earlier too.
kerplunk
Well, you guys weren't exaggerating. Lowest visibility I've seen here. About 75 feet at best. Would say we picked up an inch (easily) in about 20 minutes. Haven't measured exactly because I'm still filming thru the sliding glass doors and would need to open them to measure. Bummer is it was getting dark and then the squall made it even darker so the light to shoot wasn't the best. All in all just a great squall. And it's still coming down, although not nearly as hard. dvdmgsr
I just walked home from the Penn State campus. Very intense. I would not be surprised to hear thunder in the next 15 minutes.
dvdmgsr
The radar image is just incredible. At one point the line seems to extend from Watertown, NY to eastern Kentucky.

Itunis
Just measured 1.75" in 30 minutes. Not too shabby! Looks like a few bands might linger after the main event, as seemed to happen in the Pittsburgh thread. Mountains might do a number on them though

kerplunk
Yes does look like some banding shaping up, but think you may be right about the mountains - can see that barrier line on radar.
