dendrite
Stuff is like 30-40:1. Guy says he's never seen anything like it (the rates).Nothing like that here, but it's looking nice on radar the next couple of hours. Looks like some convective snows ahead of that mid level dryslot.

ORH_wxman
RGEM really likes eastern ma 4-10am. Most guidance does...new RPM gives most of NE MA 4-6 tomorrow AM.
ashesj
Is there any chance of central RI getting hit with the CCB tomorrow morning, or are we all done with our snow for this storm?

Arnold214
Wow, 30? Yeah I guess it depends on how fast this thing pivots and rips south.

ORH_wxman
Is there any chance of central RI getting hit with the CCB tomorrow morning, or are we all done with our snow for this storm? I suspect the bands will rotate through there tomorrow AM, though not as intense as further to the northeast in E MA. But there could be another few inches there. Kind of a nowcast thing down there. I noticed your snow on cam is getting sparkly... must be some nice flakes. Still microscopic flakes here but the air is thick with them. The lights at the Weirs are starting to fade from view. bristolri_wx
BOX update: .NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SUNDAY MORNING/... 1125 PM UPDATE... INTERESTING FORECAST FOR SURE THIS EVENING. THE PREVIOUSLY EXPECTED LULL HAS FINALLY ARRIVED ACROSS MOST OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. A LOT OF LIGHTNING STRIKES SEEN OFFSHORE OF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST...BUT IT IS QUITE CLOSE TO THE EDGE OF THE DETECTION NETWORK. THE MAIN POINT WITH THIS IS THERE IS AN ABUNDANCE OF POTENTIAL ENERGY TO BE TAPPED. WE ARE NOT YET DONE WITH THIS STORM. 15/00Z SOUNDINGS ARE IMPRESSIVE. AS FAR WEST AS PITTSBURGH AND CINCINNATI...NEAR DRY ADIABATIC LAPSE THROUGH A VERY DEEP LAYER. ALSO SEEING SIGNS OF A TROPOPAUSE FOLD...WITH THE BASE OF THE TROPOPAUSE AS LOW AS 700 MB OR SO. WE HAVE CONCERNS THE OFFSHORE STORM WILL INTENSIFY EVEN MORE EXPLOSIVELY THAN PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT LATE TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY. LATEST RUNS OF THE HI-RESOLUTION GUIDANCE TRYING TO BEAR THIS OUT. SOME...LIKE THE HRRR AND REGIONAL CANADIAN...SHOWING AN IMPRESSIVE BANDING SIGNATURE. AT THIS POINT...HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN EXACTLY WHERE THIS BAND WILL ESTABLISH ITSELF. WHERE IT DOES PERSIST FOR A TIME...WILL LIKELY SEE LOCALLY HEAVIER SNOWFALL WITH RATES OF 2-4 INCHES PER HOUR. THIS IS A COMPLICATING THE TOTAL SNOWFALL FORECAST. WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR BLOWING SNOW ONCE THE WINDS PICK UP...GIVING SOME THOUGHT TO EXPANDING THE BLIZZARD WARNING FARTHER WEST. WILL NEED A LITTLE MORE TIME TO EVALUATE THAT

Explosive situation.

Hoth
I get the sense that those returns southeast of ACK which were shooting east northeast are starting to back more northerly. The echoes training into NH and ME certainly appear to have stopped their easterly progression and are moving west northwest. Interesting. This thing appears to be tightening up.
