Sorry, most likely the band will be from north of AC, to coastal northern Monmouth back south to Trenton. Every single one of the HRRR's runs (almost 10 now?) has the band over this area. It now gives NYC N and W around an inch

Dude stop worrying so much. Just watch radar, it's wish cast time.

Forecasting is not just hugging some model!

Correct. Nowcasting to me is using the radar and seeing how that model's output output compares to it...check the HRRR and compare (denying obvious model trends is often what leads us to the most disappointment anyway. A few times during the approach of our "snowstorms" I've stated this regarding the short term models especially, and have been met with criticism. All we can do is to see how it verifies. Hopefully I'm very wrong) :

I don't know of many (really any) eastbound 998 lows moving off the Delmarva with passable upper air support that did not quickly generate a broad shield of precipitation up and over Long Island & New Jersey.  I guess it could happen; though it would likely violate most laws regarding hydrostatics & thermodynamics.
