BullCityWx
I cut myself off there. The importance of that is we're going to maximize whatever QPF we can get on Monday and through the week, hopefully.
strongwxnc
And it the two wave setup continues, cold air will be key in getting all we can during the 1st wave.... I cut myself off there. Brick Tamland
I showed this on the first page of the thread. Yeah, I would say going from 2 to 3 inches four days out for Boston to 18 inches now is a big shift.

Completely agree.... as others have stated, I love where we sit right now (CLT metro, upstate SC, and WNC). The pattern from all winter hasn't really changed. Systems for the most part have been wetter that predicted this far out and I highly doubt a super supressed storm. Yes, more supressed than previous storms due to the arctic air already entrenched but not to the point where we miss by being too far north. We also have some serious cold ahead of the storm (s) and coming in behind. This looks legit for a good storm of us. I'm all in because I have not more chips left after this. DocATL
Why is Accuweather showing rain and 40's for Atlanta? Do they have their own models that they don't share?
packbacker
If heights rise just a little in the east this can get north fairly easy, of course we need the Baja low to come out.
SnowGoose69
Why is Accuweather showing rain and 40's for Atlanta? Do they have their own models that they don't share? The NWS largely is as well, I don't agree at all, in fairness they show 33-35 and rain
FallsLake
Another run with N GA snow... It's coming people. You know if GA can get the snow I'll be happy for you. GA has been screwed out of many events in the past and it would be nice to see you guys score. In fact if we(NC) can't get anything I would like this to go a little farther south to maybe get south GA and SC. Would also be nice to see Nashville finally get something(after their long snow drought).
BullCityWx
BUFKIT spits out 2.3" for KCLT. Most of the snow falls with 850's at -10.

SnowNiner
Morning sfc map update from WPC... That looks just about right for WNC....funny it's more north than models right now. Honestly I have no idea what's going to happen. Suppressed? Big storm? At 4 days you'd think we'd have a better understanding. I've got no idea. At this point I'm hopeful, but we'll see. Wow
12z GFS still continuing to trend the Baja low west by 51. Less interaction with the PJ.
BullCityWx
Also of note, BUFKIT has areas like CAE and ATL with zr/pl instead of snow.
burgertime
12z going to be more suppressed and weaker than 6z...just my guess. 2nd wave looks a little better.
packfan98
12z going to be more suppressed and weaker than 6z...just my guess. 2nd wave looks a little better. 2nd wave energy is getting together with the baha low earlier. Also the northern energy is dropping in further west. Maybe it will help it turn the corner for us.

Ahh, by 72 the Baja low is stronger and the PJ is moving back SW in an attempt to phase with it. 2nd wave looks to be bigger.

HurricaneTracker
even worse than 06z for the first wave. oy. GFS might be an outlier on that first wave. Both NAM and last night's Euro had moisture making it through TN/NC/GA with enough to go 1-3" most places.
