I wold say that half of the difference is due to UHI at ORD...and the other half is due to the fact that RFD went calm for several hours, whereas ORD didn't. Gonna be some very low temps tonight the way things are going. 850s have warmed compared to early this morning, but it's dead calm over a wide area underneath this high.
