Reminds me of a time I was driving from Denver to Breckenridge in near whiteout conditions on I-70 near the Lincoln Tunnel. Within 5 mins it's a nice normal flake size and steady snow. Then 5 mins later, down to a flurry. I suspect it will continue to start/stop like this until the main line arrives.
