Whether I am or not is quite besides the point; you are going off on a tangent to avoid the fact that your original assertion was in error. During the period from 1986 - 2000 the mean February temperature was 35.64 F (the height of the warm spell). However, during the ensuing 15 years (2001 - 2015) the mean February temperature at Central Park plummeted to 34.27 F...a decrease of 1.37 F...clearly indicating a long term cooling trend. In fairness, I will allow (though I have not checked the arithmetic) that the 1980 - 2010 period may well have been warmer than the previous 30 year period; need we wait for another 30 years to elapse before we are at liberty to see if there is any change in temperature patterns at a given location? The coldest month on record at Upton was January 1977...which had mean temperature of 19.5 F...a full 1.5 degrees warmer than the current month. The coldest anomalies globally set up over N. America. I think we might be in the cooler spot for a while especially if the +PDO is in charge.
