Morch Madness
Guys the band is dry as a bone. I'm under dark green returns and it's barely snowing. Edit: Should note that I'm in SE PA not Boston
mob1
For places far north that have a much lower temperature than NYC but with similar dew points, your RH will obviously be higher.

UlsterCountySnowZ
Take a look at the obs out there now...vis dropping They've been under virga tho for hours prior, plenty of time to saturate, we're just seeing it move in now, we just gotta see what happens with that band in Jersey that's all, after that i don't see much behind it to get excited about
KeithB
This situation is almost laughable. We are getting the precip field further north than we thought, only to find out that everything north of Toms River is virga. I am out of strength. I really am. WintersGrasp
Cold air, though it's moisture content may be low (absolute humidity) may be almost saturated (gives it high RH). Saranac Lake is -15 with an 81% relative humidity right now

mob1
Flurries reaching the ground as far North as Highland is very encouraging, some of the negativity here is a bit over the top, we all knew it would take a bit for precipitation to reach the ground but it won't be for as long as some of more classic virga storms (like one storm that shall not be named, that showed decent returns for many many hours without a flake to show for it)
WintersGrasp
I know I haven't been in the "snow" camp, so to say, but with this one we WILL SNOW. Not several inches but I do believe many of us will receive 1-3. I made a map earlier today and I think it still holds true. Over the next 2-3 hours, we should all be snowing..... Guest Pamela
Persistent NE flow off the ocean should help saturate the lower levels...its not like you're out in Kansas somewhere.
Allsnow
Huge fluff factor in the flakes under that stuff west of us. Indicative of a high ratio fluff...
monmouthcounty11
Flurries have just begun in Lincroft, I would imagine intensity will pick up rather quickly. Temperature at 15.8.
