snowfan
does the Euro show any measurable qpf for Sat eve.? cartopper. Maybe a bit more.
Scarlet Pimpernel
Euro has 10m wind gusts 70-80 mph along the coast early Sunday. Woof. Visibility might be drastically reduced by blowing salt from the road.
aldie 22
Already not looking forward to flying back from FL sunday morning. Might Need Denzel Washington to land your plane for you
Scraff
Since it's still six days away, anyone think the 12z suite started a trend for the better? I'm going to go out on a limb...that's already hanging over a cliff anyway...and say yes.
Ji
euro is really dry. We need a better thump

Scarlet Pimpernel
cartopper. Maybe a bit more. If it's as windy as shown, might not be much on top of the cars...
Bob Chill
Very long strung out low pressure after the first low moves through. From the obx to nova scotia. Strange look and unlikely but we get a little snow after the column gets itself right again.
Ji
seems like low on euro never gets west of us. the precip distribution is really weird but its 6 days away

StudentOfClimatology
If it's as windy as shown, might not be much on top of the cars... I think some of that QPF falls during the higher winds w/ the passage of the 500mb vort. That'd be fun, actually.
HighStakes
More brutal cold after the storm.
Deck Pic
seems like low on euro never gets west of us. the precip distribution is really weird but its 6 days away you get like 4-5" with a thump of sleet/zr on top and a topper at the end..that is a good run for you
Scarlet Pimpernel
1-2 ft. Seriously. I don't doubt it...just looking at the position of that low, I was going to guess something on that order.

Bob Chill
How much for Boston with that monster? (yes, I dared to ask!) Only a foot with this one so they'll be pretty bummed it's so small. But it will all blow away anyways.
Scarlet Pimpernel
GFS showed that as well on the 12Z run. Yes, it did have some kind of "strung out" thing with a lot of precip. Difference is, going by what I read here about the Euro, is that the Euro is a bit farther east and colder compared to the GFS. At least it sounds that way. mitchnick
as if it was possible, CFS2 brings even more cold to us than prior maps if it can keep creeping the cold down our way, maybe one of these clippers would work for us

Scarlet Pimpernel
randy and I are going if guidance holds.. Road trip with Jebman?? Well if you seriously are going if that solution holds...hang on to your hat, literally...or grab onto a light pole! It would be quite something to experience. mitchnick
Do you see much upside to the weekend? Not sure we can do much better. Honestly I'm more interested in a cartopper than chasing next weeks storm attm. if the first one digs better, then the 2nd one will too fwiw

WVclimo
Some pretty extreme cold shots on both the GFS and EC at 12Z. Anyone know the last time DCA or even BWI had single digit lows in February ?

Honestly I'm more interested in a cartopper than chasing next weeks storm attm. I have yet to so anything point towards the possibility of a 2" event. Except for the GGEM. And I'm not buying it. Euro ticked ever so slightly better with the low jumping to the coast but overall it's not a good setup for us to do well.
Fozz
Some pretty extreme cold shots on both the GFS and EC at 12Z. Anyone know the last time DCA or even BWI had single digit lows in February ? For DCA it's been a while... I can't really remember. Maybe Feb 2007? But it's not all that rare or exceptional in BWI or IAD... in fact BWI had mid-single digit lows in early March last year.
