You were trying to talk everyone off the ledge by the "blizzard" because we had the Euro And were sure it would be right. See it worked you are still with us . I got 22 in Laurel Hollow . Guess I missed by 30 miles

IsentropicLift
The RGEM only runs out to 48hrs. At that point the low is still over the Lakes.

NortheastPAWx
The RGEM at hr54 is basically akin to the DGEX start point...
IsentropicLift
The ridge is stronger on the 18z GFS. The GFS may not totally cave here but it should make a southwest shift.
Saturn510
RGEM is absolutely beautiful. Continues on the trend south!! Very encouraging
IsentropicLift
Ah okay, if someone has the 500mb RGEM map I would like to see it. The surface doesn't really mean much at this range.
IsentropicLift
This is digging a lot more than 12z. Stronger Western Atlantic ridge.
snowman19
Given the fact that no one trusts the nam, and what the RGEM just showed, if the GFS caves right now, this board will crash big time at 0z
IsentropicLift
This run is going to be so close...
IsentropicLift
The 500mb low is about 50-75 miles further South. Went from almost lake Ontario to the PA border.
IsentropicLift
500mb low ends up right on the south shore of LI. It tries so hard to throw back moisture but just doesn't quite get it done. Very weak on the inverted trough. Still on Sunday morning, light snow stretches back to Western PA.
Mitchel Volk
GFS cuts down amount, upper low about the same as 12Z, so it's GFS vs. ECMWF, RGEM, GEM.
IsentropicLift
GFS cuts down amount, upper low about the same as 12Z, so it's GFS vs. ECMWF, RGEM, GEM. Out West the 500mb low was significantly further south. When it reached our longitude it ended up around the same as 12z. The Western Atlantic ridge was significantly stronger this run and you could see the differences at H5. I'm not sure when the GFS is going to cave but I believe it will eventually. Seth.P
Was it not GFS against the world during the blizzard, and they came out on top?
Mitchel Volk
Yes that is why I posted it that way. I am still on the fence with this one.
ILoveWinter
Was it not GFS against the world during the blizzard, and they came out on top? I believe it was more accurate for the nyc metro, not so much the further east you went however as it some of those areas cashed in despite what the gfs showed. Someone Correct me if I am wrong.
