The cold air is coming…

30.1 here now… with a dew of 26.

Took until late afternoon for the colder air to move in earnest here on the immediate southern coast of RI.

it was 34.0 with a dew of 30 at 4pm… temp and dew started falling shortly after 4… and has been steadily going down since.

Slight shift in wind direction… it's been between 040 and 060 all day however it's switched to a more constant 045 direction in the last hour.

No noticeable change in speed.

Edit: down to 29.9

mist here a few miles west of you - this could create icy conditions by itself if temps drop below freezing in the next few hours that moist NE flow is bringing in a lot of low level moisture and does not show up well on radars

Down to 37 in Jackson, NJ, from a high of 53 at 1:30 this afternoon.  Impressive drop of 16 degrees in 6 hours.

Had no idea it got that warm today.  Think we maybe hit 38-39F in the Edison area today and it's down to 34F now.  Just looked at today's temps and it hit 64F in Salisbury, MD and 61F in Millville, NJ (Cumberland County) - guess the sun made a huge difference...

They also have zero snow cover down there so that helps temps to rise easier and quicker due the albido of the ground

I think it's possible now that we never rain on the Island as it will be below freezing before the precip moves in. Ice ice baby!

Down to 28 in Laurel Hollow . The CAD raced South very fast this evening . Watch the state college radar to get a sense as to what is developing for the city and Long Island .

The 0 line @ 850 is right there . You look to be plus 2 at 5k feet .  Just a matter of how much precip can  east run along 78 .
