winterwx21
The extra hour of daylight we get this weekend will surely start doing a number on the snowpack... It's amazing how much snow can melt with temps well below freezing this time of year. When I went to bed last night, I had 6 inches of snow on the table in the back yard. Right now, there's 1 inch. 5 inches gone despite temps only in the 20s today. That March sun is incredibly strong. This is why early season storms are more fun to me than late season storm. In January with temps in the 20s, very little of the snow would have melted. It's amazing that most of yesterday's snow is gone already (in sunny spots). NorthShoreWx
The extra hour of daylight we get this weekend will surely start doing a number on the snowpack... winterwx21
The time change will make it impossible to accumulate snow during the daylight hours. It can accumulate during daylight hours as long as it comes down heavy enough.

IsentropicLift
if we had any type of blocking this winter we would have been talking 95-96 type seasonal snowfall Maybe, or it could have been more like 2009-2010 with a mid-atlantic JP. Mophstymeo
if we had any type of blocking this winter we would have been talking 95-96 type seasonal snowfall Which was why all those LR forecasts were calling for gangbuster snowfall; they were banking on that blocking. We somehow managed 40-some-odd inches; imagine what could have been.

DRVTS
The time change will make it impossible to accumulate snow during the daylig It can accumulate during daylight hours as long as it comes down heavy enough. Not true. The sun angle and time change make it so the snow never even reaches the ground. It melts too fast.
