RU848789
Amazing what shade does. My entire property is fairly shady and I have 6-8" on just about the entire property. People across the street, in full sun, have almost no snow left. I love having a shady property for this reason and it also means my back deck is almost never in full sun in the summer (only from about 11 am to 2 pm), meaning I can actually enjoy being outside when it's warm or even close to hot. One half of my backyard has no snow, while the shady side has 5-7" of snow.
NorthShoreWx
Does anyone have any confidence in the Intellicast snowcover maps? It seems accurate for my area, but a little stingy over parts of the island. Select "snow cover " from the layers dropdown at this site: http://www.intellicast.com/Local/WxMap.aspx?location=USNY0715 I would be curious how this map is generated. bluewave
Scattered patches of snow left here with the snow free zone creeping north from Central NJ. As usual, the North Shore of LI will hold on to snow cover longer than the South Shore.

Not pretty or fun, even though I'm a snow lover.

gravitylover
This morning is the first time I'm home when the sun is up in two days and I expected to see bare spots all over but ... NOPE! I still have full coverage about 6" deep. I'll get a measurement or three later this afternoon when I get home, gotta go out for a while now. JERSEYSNOWROB
First pic is from this morning in my backyard and next is from last night from my street. Shade does wonders I guess. Lots of bare spots though.
pazzo83
A week ago, we had 20" of snow on the ground at the park, the city was a winter wonderland. One week later: nearly gone. Great winter, hope we have a great spring.
Zelocita Weather
I'm calling the snow pack done in my area as of today. About 60%-70% coverage remains on flat open surfaces (still near full in wooded areas) but many bare spots around as well. Nice streak Jan 25- Mar 13. 48 straight days.... NorthShoreWx
7" here. Same as yesterday. >90% coverage. The bare spots got a little larger, but away from those there was virtually no change yesterday. I just noticed that the snow in my backyard is resembling upside-down mammatus:
Isotherm
Still holding on with 4" at Central Park as of yesterday. Tomorrow would be the 50th consecutive day. Getting close to the record duration which is 54 I believe in 2010-11 and 58 in 47-48.
doncat
Have been recording it at just a trace here now for a few days...driving by some of the more heavily wooded areas nearby its still pretty widespread in spots with a couple inches or so.
