TalcottWx
it won't be you, magnets you Boston Fellas are, can we shut the city down? lets do this lol j/kI have been driving for a half hour to the garden after eating dinner and I haven't reached downtown yet. jamesnichols89
Trends in the American models are to a more amplified negatively tilted trough over the eastern US, favoring east coast cyclogenesis and bombogenesis. As the storm moves past our latitude its around 987mb. This will burst open a comma head and precip will burst westward more so than currently modeled. Eastern areas will get warning criteria snows, while areas near Springfield get up to 4".
Damage In Tolland
and I didn't mention where for obvious reasonsIt's going to be where the cold front hangs up probably RI and SE from there . Cold side is where the best snows fall
Patrick-02540
lol to the failed Nor'easter that is not meant to be, and lol(x2) regarding the last page or so of comments. Oh, I know. For heaven's sake, right? But still and all, I am depressed I won't likely see a foot Thursday. Now I'm hoping for 2' on Sunday night. Greed begets greed, you know. jamesnichols89
Cold front will be offshore, which is why Cape Cod will be where the best snows occur.

78Blizzard
If this comes west much more, there could be taint issues for many south of Boston. As it is, the 18z GFS shows 1°C at 925mb @ 39 hr at OWD. But the GFS was too warm in the last storm, so who knows.

jamesnichols89
Ok no ticks west, maybe ticks the precip west, not the track of the low, otherwise Cape Cod is rain again, I can't take back to back rain storms.

SouthCoastMA
I say 4-8" here on the Cape. that may be a good call this time. Better chance with this storm than the last.
jamesnichols89
Yeah definitely, this storm is not coming as far west as ACK and CHH. Probably about 50 miles east of the benchmark once again. All snow for Cape Cod, its just a matter of how far west the precip and comma head gets.
dryslot
or an alternative solution emerges Yeah like something in the lines of a low moving up a stalled front offshore in the 980 mb range.............
jamesnichols89
A low in the 980mb range should produce a prolific comma head.
Clinch Leatherwood
you toss all guidance? We toss IMBY i think I get sucker holed unless we do well on OES at end which has some potential. Or barring a major pickup tonight with features at init.
CoastalWx
Basically the overrunning snow is from western MA and into NNE. It does sag south, but is transient. So if the storm moves east, then it's not much east and south of those areas.

jamesnichols89
Scott, I don't think storm corrects east that much, I think it ticks west by another 25 miles.
