Total was up to 16.0" as of 9PM, so 6th is likely to be passed this hour.

How is this storm ranking for some of you in terms of enjoyability?

 

Pretty meh, tbh.  Growing up along I-95, these 0.5"/hr rates (or less) just don't it for me.

Not impossible...plus you never know if radar is doing the LES justice.

I'm at 13.5" here in Taylor. Most snow I've seen in my life. DTW will likely surpass the storm on December 18-19,1929 with 13.8" and February 28-March 1, 1900 with 14.0" placing this storm at #4.

 

Next record to break is #3 March 4-5, 1900 with 16.1" which is still possible.

 

I doubt we'll touch December 1-2 1974 with 19.3"

 

So cheers for Detroit's #3 snowiest storm!

I think DTW is likely at or around 13.8 now if ratios have remained as they were earlier in the storm. Hard to say without an update.

I agree. I said on another forum I expect widespread 2-4" with some weenie spots of 5" or so. I think that would probably put DTW at 15-17" depending on where they're at now, so it would make for something for the history books.

DTW is around 14 inches is what Im hearing, so yeah. that would put them between 16-18. Wow.

A few from today. Nowhere near the drifting as '11 but still some solid riding out there. Wide skis kept me floating but lower speeds brought the powder over the hood. Great storm.

still cranking pretty good here...I would say solid SN...the flakes that survive the winds are the largest of the system

The vertical wind profile from TMKE still shows,low level NE winds above the surface and the 3z RAP really doesn't back winds to the north until well after midnight. Might be a bit unrealistic but we will see how long this lasts.
