Snowstorms
I remember that event. I live closer to lake huron and it really was a week of nasty squalls and wind. Schools were closed for a week - roads weren't nice. Looking forward to the coming event. Even in the snowbelts in Southwestern Ontario it hasn't been the snowy winter of years past. Would love to experience a classic LES band. I've only experienced a few off Lake Ontario, but something all year around would be great. The Lakes are freezing over so LES is going to wind down in the coming week or two IMO.
snowstormcanuck
RUC shows 6-8" across Toronto, and that's using a fixed 10:1 ratio
snowstormcanuck
They had Jill Coulton on, she informed them about the warning and then mentioned that it meant 5-15 for the GTA and 15-30cm from Windsor-YHM-Niagara. God forbid we bust high. Tis the post GHD era. My mistake then. It's just them being morons.
blizzardof96
RUC shows 6-8" across Toronto, and that's using a fixed 10:1 ratio Very good news. The HRRR looks really nice as well.
WestCoaster
ORD reporting 14:1 ratios. Surface temps have been around -2*C with 850 mb temps of around -7*C for most of the event thus far. Kind of surprised with how high their ratios are given that temp profile. Maybe higher ratios are possible with our relatively uniform -10 to -12*C boundary layer during peak rates. Ottawa Blizzard
CP24 saying 5-15cm for the GTA. The media is still downplaying this threat. Lol what a joke. It's a shame to because of the super bowl that some people are going to think that this is just a small snowfall. Not the case. Couldn't agree with you guys more. It's ironic that the Ground hog Day storm four years ago was hyped but fell flat, while this storm isn't being made a big deal about at all in the media and may turn out to be the real deal. snowstormcanuck
Looks like light accumulating snow has gotten into western Mississauga per MTO cams on the QEW. Hopefully in the city within the next 1-2 hrs.

PAHTDC
And now just past 6N there is accumulation between the lanes, lanes themselves still bare and wet, and now as approach 6S it's only tire tracks that are bare and wet Let me know if this is just a distraction / of no interest

PAHTDC
At Guelph line, was a short stretch of back to all bare and wet just pass 6S but back to snow dusted across all lanes, including tire tracks as we come down the escarpment hill, most snow on road seen yet. No changes throughout this time in terms of snow in the air/falling

Well, not sure about that quite yet. But definitely 6-7" should be a lock. 18Z NAM looks set to uptick QPF slightly again.
