Definitely some nice moderate to occasionally heavy bursts of snow at times here over the past 20 minutes.

You have me second guessing now lol In all honesty, I haven't measured properly, and I was going by a poster who lives in Poughkeepsie on another board who is reporting 12". That deck pic is pretty convincing but I have no idea how anyone in central Dutchess managed that much snow already...

My bad, sorry guys. The question is, can we make a run at 12"?

chietanen
Im surprised, I'm all sleet right now We are living on the edge right now, might be a short period of time before the cold air sinks back south. I'm about 50/50 snow/sleet right now. It looks like the HRRR is a little too cold, as it kept me all snow today.

chietanen
Looks like a secondary may be forming over the Delmarva? Check out the surface obs and wind directions. Not sure it'll help or hurt us, but fun to watch things evolve.

Hopefully this is a brief interlude and the ratios can get better... The mix line is progressing nicely to the east through PA and into NJ if you watch this loop. We should flip back to all snow in short order I would think. http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=DIX-N0C-1-

Juliancolton
I pelted briefly but I'm back over to the heaviest snow of the day so far. Big flakes with visibility around 1/2 mile. Edit: and back to flurries.
chietanen
I pelted briefly but I'm back over to the heaviest snow of the day so far. Big flakes with visibility around 1/2 mile. Same here. Huge flakes. Sounds like a mess in the city with heavy freezing rain and sleet. I wonder if they might actually end up with a decent burst of snow later this afternoon before it ends. Radders
In and out of light to moderate snow here.. I get the sense is it going to be back and forth between flurries and heavy bursts for the next few hours before we shut off. I am thinking the ceiling is 10". NepaJames8602
Hey guys, my snow changed to a mix of snow and sleet for a brief 30-45 min during the dry slot/lull. Now back to all snow and heavy at that here in the Poconos. Radar keeps filling in nicely to my southwest. Roughly about 9.0" here so far.

It does sound like they had a water supply issue that's since been resolved.
