cyclone77
-4 here this morning. About 6" of arctic crust remains. The snow is so dense and frozen you can walk across it and only sink a few inches.
Chitown Storm
Some unexpected forcing over the TC this morning. Nice little area of snow overhead. Great flake size.

weatherbo
posted in wrong thread before... opps. Lake Superior is about to flat line again. Looks like 2 weeks later than last Winter. 86% iced over as of today, and with temps not cracking zero in spots for the next 3 days should seal the deal. Interesting how much water is still open on S lake MI. S lakes have had lots of thaws and even some 40'ish weather when we've been locked in the freezer up here. L MI should rapidly cover with ice this week tho. Id say in a weeks time, Superior will have 98%+.

Powerball
These snow showers are a bit fun this afternoon. Silver dollar flake size ... extreme ratios ... love it! Had towering/billowing cumulus clouds this afternoon with haze in the sky. You can tell that it's going to rip snow outside soon (sort of reminiscent of the Summer time and thunderstorms). n1vek
I like seeing that dense ice between Isle Royale and the mainland. With any luck, the wolf situation could improve with a long duration ice bridge.

I was thinking of changing in signature too, to lake effect "flurry" capital as that's all we get here, IF we're lucky lol

michsnowfreak
Ripping here now. cant complain as i have been lucky for a while now, but looking like I totally miss out on this squall that dropped a quick 1-2" in its path.

Powerball
The feathers have ceased, but it's still snowing at a modest clip. 2" just out of this wouldn't surprise me, then there's round 2 tomorrow morning...
Chargers09
Somehow ended up with 2.5 inches of extremely fluffy light snow from round 1. Honestly was shocked. Wasn't expecting this much so soon.
GordoFabulous
Nice little band has been sitting right over me for the better part of the last couple hours. Just measured 2.5" that melted down to about 0.1".
michsnowfreak
We JUST missed that band. Totally got skirted just to the north. My mom was driving through it on her way to St Clair Shores, she echos the sentiments of huge, beautiful feathers. Considering theres plenty of snow on the ground and we have been plenty lucky (for several winters) I cant complain, but this is one of things that would have p*ssed me off in lean times lol. Picked up 0.2" here and 0.3" at DTW, just enough to put a glitter on the snowpack and slicken the roads.

michsnowfreak
Once again there were more snow from the squalls up in Farmington Hills, although there was a fresh 0.4" on the board imby (& DTW). So the 24-hour snow squall total was 0.9" at DTW and 0.8" imby. Most noteworthy...Detroit is now at 43.1" of snow on the season. It was only a matter of time, but now its official. An above normal snow season is locked in. A-G-A-I-N! (normal season total is 42.7"). We have two more months of measurable snow potential to go. This now makes 7 of the last 8 winters seeing above normal snowfall! Ma Nature did decide to mix it up some though...she was tired of simply breaking snowfall records, so the last two years she has thrown in....the all-time season snowfall record, plenty of snow depth and snowcover records, and plenty of record cold...and who could forget, a big dog. No better times than these if you like winter. It has to end...eventually lol. Another arctic sunset was seen tonight too
