Guess I'll put this here

Meteorological winter temperature departures.  Overall, winter was not as cold as last winter in the Midwest (thanks mild December) and the cold was centered farther east this time.

If it weren't for last winter, this one would be the coldest since 1981-82 at IND. 26.3˚ for DJF 2014-15 with a -4.5˚ departure.

Put the cold portion in the cold thread but Ill put it here too.

This link from DTX on Feb...

Our Feb was a typical Feb in Edmunton, Alberta cold-wise.

Detroit records date to 1874.

This Feb also made 2014-15 the 20th coldest winter on record, in spite of the mild December. Winter 2013-14 was the 8th coldest on record, and prior to this, a winter hadnt made the top 20 coldest since 1981-82.

Snow-wise, the 16.7" snowstorm on Feb 1/2nd was the 3rd largest on record and also the largest on record for February. Pretty crazy to have the biggest Feb snowstorm and coldest Feb in 140 years in the SAME month!

Detroits top 20 snowiest Februarys list is just insane lol. I posted above but might as well join it with the cold post now that the month is officially over.

Feb snow totaled 26.4" which is the 7th snowiest Feb on record.

Detroits top 10 snowiest Februarys since 1881.

01.) 38.4" - 1908

02.) 31.7" - 2011

03.) 28.5" - 1881

04.) 28.0" - 1900

04.) 28.0" - 1926

Definitely an A+ February.  Other than spending ~24 hour slightly above freezing around the 7-8 (thankfully only peak 36F IMBY) I really don't have anything I would complain about for this February.  Sure I would have always loved more snow but in reality it snowed a ton for February.
