Chargers09
Same major band (30+ dbz) centered over the I-94 (K'zoo/Battle Creek) corridor in Michigan, Harry should be getting wrecked right now. this one's drifting east. Cant wait.
Jackstraw
some 30 dbz now, rivaling GHD intensity wise but just doesn't have the top end gusts Awesome pics, enjoy! I just finished shoveling water
DaveNay
some 30 dbz now, rivaling GHD intensity wise but just doesn't have the top end gusts Oddly....for the last 30 minutes or so the gusts out here at DKB have dropped by 50% intensity. Was just outside and can confirm it. Truly amazing storm for this part of the world. Wont break the record here ( 28.6" Jan 67 blizzard ) but it may come as close as any has since 78. Hoosier
Lucky you. Pouring rain (with a couple of flakes mixed in) here on the eastside. Man, that's a nasty gradient around LAF. Though runs last night starting hinting at something like that.

cyclone77
This may be the heaviest snow of the event right now. Doesn't look too impressive on radar, but it's absolutely ripping out there. Pouring smaller flakes. Very low visibility.
andyhb
This is like a constantly ramping up storm --> from first sniffs in the mid range, all the way through nowcasting. Pretty remarkable.
SchaumburgStormer
Flake size has been steadily increasing through the afternoon. Winds still howling, whiteouts on the reg.

Powerball
I just heard that the mayor of Toledo had a heart attack and ended up crashing his car (while out in the snow). Fortunately, a person was able to reach him and perform CPR.
TimChgo9
Totally ripping outside my window right now. Went outside to shovel on my lunch break, it is a tad brutal out there. 21 degrees now, and winds are gusting to 33. 12" of snow is my best guess at this point, drifting however is making that difficult. Off and on white out conditions right now. Also heard reports that the BNSF and UP are stopping traffic on their respective subdivisions through the area for now. andyhb
Returns intensifying once again out in DeKalb and Lee Counties. Meanwhile, that area of 30+ dbz over the Chicago area continues to expand (also out over the lake).
cyclone77
What was your total with GHD '11? Somewhere around 16" IIRC. I'm guessing we had more than that though, I had a real difficult time measuring that one. This one has been easy by comparison.
nwburbschaser
The snow/wind is ripping here at the moment. I'm glad this is on a Sunday so I don't have to go anywhere. My dad had his truck(FWD Ranger) stuck twice in drifts between his house and my house which is only about a half mile. The city hasn't even bothered to plow yet which I understand. Serious rippage for the last hour or so Might have a relatively solid band of 30 dbz returns all the way from the lake back to there shortly. Going to see some serious jackpots. Hoosier
Getting some of the best gusts of the storm here so far (hopefully power stays on this time). Just over a foot but it's getting a bit more difficult to measure.

That band running through Chicago is a thing of beauty, and it's basically locked in over the same corridor. Can't wait to see some of the totals out of there.
