Whitelakeroy
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md0050.html mcd0050.gif I don't think I could draw a better W=>E tracking storm for southern MI.
cyclone77
Forgot I shot this around 1-2am this morning. Ended up being sort of a cool before shot, as it shows the tree 5-6hrs before that first large section broke off. The circled section is what broke off first. Chitown Storm
Damn near meteorological perfection down there. Sweet pics guys! Keep 'em coming please. Sunny and 13° here. The wind already blew the 0.1" of snow I received off of my lawn. Ha!
Chicago Storm
Flake size has definitely increased over the past few hours. Lake enhancement is also clearly evident on radar as well.
mjwise
I don't think I could draw a better W=>E tracking storm for southern MI. 15Z SREF is in. Ensemble mean total snow starting from 18Z (1PM EST) is 14.6" for DTW. Freaking amazing - they were at 4" on the ground at 1PM.

blue60007
Some better returns about to move in. Just noticed some of the juniper bushes along the fence row are flattened under the snow. EDIT: rain mixing in now here

cyclone77
Every time it looks like the heavy snow is ready to move out a new band takes shape and moves in. Like others have said you really couldn't have designed a better storm for the corridor it's hitting.
andyhb
Amazing water vapour image here with the Pacific-based tropical plume of moisture feeding this storm extending all the way back to the ITCZ.
stormtrackertf
Quick shot out the back window. Snowing too hard to be outside shooting pics at the moment. Sorry for the crappy quality. Three large sections of the back tree now on the ground lol. EDIT: The wind cups on the weather station are cemented in, so I'll be reporting calm conditions for the next week or two lol. Wow. That is truly a winter wonderland.

Hoosier
Ripping here as that heavier band from the IKK area swings in. A little concerned about the best returns temporarily shifting a bit north later but may be able to stay just north of the pivot point here. I'm thinking another 4-6" is easily attainable. TugHillMatt
We had about half an inch 18 miles ne of the center of Indpls overnight Sat. and some sleet this morning. Grass still showing here. Melting a bit to slush now. That's rough. Wasn't the NE side of the city supposed to get around 7 inches?
Chicago WX
Ripping good under some 35dbz the last 30 minutes. Very nice. Answering your earlier question, had 3.1" total here. Melting now with my temp up to 36˚...and light rain continues to fall.

GordoFabulous
That's rough. Wasn't the NE side of the city supposed to get around 7 inches? All of the Indy mets missed this one badly. We were forecasted for 5-9" up to 8-10" in MIE, depending on who you looked at. I wished I would have tracked TWC's forecasts leading up to this because they were the first one I saw even close to reality, and they were calling 2-4" as of about 10pm last night. We've had about an hour of parachutes here with other periods of rain and some snow throughout the day. I'm currently at 1.5" of total accumulation that melts down to about 0.25" of liquid.
