michsnowfreak
Pics from just after noon on the road (yeah I know I shoudnt do that lol)...before the brunt of the storm even got here lol. Want to take a walk later for some more pics
Geos
RAC and ENW reporting +SN. I'd expect all of NE IL to reporting +SN in the next hour or two. It's borderline +SN here now. Around 9" here. Really tricky to measure this snowfall. Flake size has gotten better since 11:30 or so. Pretty sure the conditions over the lake are continuing to improve for lake enhancement. Few pictures from about an hour ago.
magoos0728
RAC and ENW reporting +SN. I'd expect all of NE IL to reporting +SN in the next hour or two. Was out shoveling for a bit. Seemed pointless. Winds are still just amazing-snow is ripping.

vortex
35˚ and light rain, so that'll do it here for this storm. Could have been worse I guess. How much you end up with? Stuck at 34 and snow here. Not much accumulation since this morning. Last I measured this morning before some melted we were at 6.5". A few degrees colder we'd probably be at 10". Happy with what we have.

cyclone77
Band nearing Cyclone is probably close to 2" per hour Yeah it's snowing the heaviest of the event at the moment. Snow is much fluffier now as well, so we're making the most of it. Temp down to 23. The rain issues from last night are a distant memory.
Thundersnow12
Band nearing Cyclone is probably close to 2" per hour some pivot action out there it looks like too
hawkeye_wx
About 9.5" here now. Overnight was a heavy, wet snow with light wind. Now it's very cold with blizzard conditions, very nasty.
A-L-E-K
850s still out of the SE across NE IL, so we're still pulling moisture back into the well organized deformation band. Incredible frontogenesis showing up right along I88 across the state with convergence steadily increasing. Threaded the needle in impressive fashion. Indystorm
How far south did the snow line make it? We had about half an inch 18 miles ne of the center of Indpls overnight Sat. and some sleet this morning. Grass still showing here. Melting a bit to slush now. stormtrackertf
Phew, it is snowing hard out there right now with a biting wind. Just got done shoveling, and it's hard to tell because of the driftiness of it but I'd estimate as of right now we're closing in on 6". Just pouring flakes out there at probably 1.5" an hour or so. cyclone77
Quick shot out the back window. Snowing too hard to be outside shooting pics at the moment. Sorry for the crappy quality. Three large sections of the back tree now on the ground lol. EDIT: The wind cups on the weather station are cemented in, so I'll be reporting calm conditions for the next week or two lol.
