mackerel_sky
Always. Looks like the south trend is done. Good while it lasted though. I like western NC, NW SC, NGa, and VA. Not too excited about my area at the moment. How much for I-485??

weatherheels
This is what it's all about. Got a storm brewing, got some beer to drink for this weekend while I sit around watching College basketball and models. Feels good to have a possible winter storm rolling through the S.E. in the next 96. Not a feeling we've felt in a while.

Thrasher Fan
This is setting up for a disaster in the metro ATL. I got the feeling nobody has learned any lessons from the issues last year. The combo of a holiday weekend and this storm arriving as early as mid day Monday is going to catch a large % of folks unprepared. Folks in my office building are clueless to even the threat. Dunkman
NEGA/Clemson screw zone in full effect on this map That is impressive. The GFS knows... However, for mby, give me that low in that position and I'll gladly take my chances.
Dunkman
For those not watching the models, the GFS also had 2 additional storms impacting some part of the SE in the next 10 days.

Hopefully school systems and counties will shutdown Tuesday and release early Monday. Most schools don't have school Monday.

It's becoming self aware! Reminded me of 2004 when I was in Clemson. Good thing I'm in Spartanburg now, or maybe not good for people in Spartanburg hoping for snow! lol

Feels good to have a possible winter storm rolling through the S.E. in the next 96. Not a feeling we've felt in a while. I am looking forward to watching the chatter on here this weekend as well. I'm also looking forward to the first brave met to post a first call map too. I love seeing those and feel when all is said and done there should be a prize for the closest match. I have been around since 2007 and I think this has been the dullest winter to watch unfold. I say bring it on. I hope we see more 1st call maps show up rather than cliff divers. It will be sad if that starts happening. Let the snow gods bless someone in the SE please!
mackerel_sky
Well they just named the Boston storm " Neptune" so I guess that leaves ours to be winter storm " your anus", I mean " Uranus".

Tony Sisk
If that image doesn't point out what happens near the Nuclear Plant...nothing will. It's the craziest thing. I personally think it's also combined with the mountains. It just causes an unusual weather occurrence for snow. It's becoming self aware! Reminded me of 2004 when I was in Clemson. Brick Tamland
This is really an excellent Euro solution at this range. We are inside 5 days. We have a real threat. We have a very cold air mass in place prior to the event. There is a wide swath of snow. Amounts could easily be underdone right now. The usual caveats apply, but I like where we are now. A lot. mackerel_sky
What time is this blizzard going to start on Monday ? Around noon? The sooner the better to keep it cold, it's almost march , and that sun angle is a b•••h!
Dunkman
Good runs I'd say. We would all love every run to be a foot at our houses but what we need right now is to avoid a disastrous trend, and we did.

sparklecity
I'm worried that the 12-15" the DGEX is showing for mby is overblown because the angle of the sun is going to melt everything so fast. HTH
kvegas-wx
LOL, my point and click forecast has lost its mind. It changes constantly! Every time I look at it the %'s change and the snow icon reappears or disappears for Tuesday. Almost as neurotic as some on this board! :-)
