CaryWx
Where's Widreman? It's time for him to put us in our place for getting excited over a little freezing drizzle and cold rain! Agreed. Without a Widre sign i can't take any of this seriously
Jonathan
I agree with the above. We need the Joel on board with this one.
FallsLake
Actually we don't need a new thread; we already have a good one. This is most likely the last stretch of winter and we can just use our current PLB thread. But what ever..
calculus1
That would be me. Post another one, and for you, this storm will be read only. That was well played, burns.
calculus1
I vote jshetley start it. Why not? It would be like the biggest reverse jinx in the history of mankind. (Is that hyperbole?) Worse case scenario: Jonesville, SC, and surrounding locales get massive amounts of rain while WNC stays in the cold sector of the storm and gets dumped on with snow. Then, we're all happy. Amirite? Yep, sorry, Mack. We'll have to sacrifice your snowstorm so that the winter gardens are watered and the rest of NC can get in on the snowstorm. Snowless in Carrollton
Lol I'm just messing around.. some people seem really uptight. Wait if you must! This does seem good to go though (based on no facts whatsoever). people are uptight and with good reason. Most people haven't seen a single flake of snow and March is 16 days away. Solak
First local forecast that includes frozen precip for next week is out now. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Tuesday Night Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Wednesday A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Bollocks. My Mom has been through that at least more times than I can count on one hand in the last 5-6 years. It's tough but you'll make it through man. Best of luck to you, you can do it. Dunkman
I'm really glad to see that run from the GFS. No way we could stay in the bullseye from now until the event. At least now I feel like I have a chance.
sparklecity
I know the GFS isn't likely to be right, but those 2 screwzones in upstate SC makes me go hmmmm. One in the Clemson area, which happens all the time from previous experience living there, and the other is near jshetley lol.
WxBlue
Deleted my post on PBP thread because it wasn't the right place but... I get the feeling way too many meteorologists are shooting down others for any idea of winter storm instead of discussing what COULD happen like Chris on here does. Why not get ahead of social media posters and educate the public with pieces of puzzle?
metalicwx366
:lmao: Whew.. that was funny. This board is great. Banter thread is where its at this winter. Edit: Just saw the GFS, I like that run for my backyard. I'm all in for snow here Wednesday morning. First time this winter. Idc if one model is just showing, the GFS won't let me down. Why not get ahead of social media posters and educate the public with pieces of puzzle? I don't think some TV mets want the competition. They have to be conservative, and are worried about someone else getting it right on the boards and social media, and they getting it wrong. wncsnow
The EURO will be telling IMHO... If it is super suppressed with little QPF like the GFS over my area I will start worrying about suppression.. otherwise I like where im at.
mackerel_sky
I want to get off the bus! All I ever expected was a brief period of sleet/snow at onset, then a quick changeover to rain! Anything else would be gravy
