Our main storm really blows up as it heads to the NE, pushing the cold air down fast and furious. It would likely be very windy too.

Which means that those of us in the cad areas had better hope it warms enough and long enough to melt any zr off of the trees or we will have more problems after the storm than during it.

yep. plus It's been so long since we have had a major ice storm in some areas, I've wondered just how much tree damage would occur from a major one.  It probably wouldn't be good. certainly wouldn't be if there was a lot of high winds.

I can tell you last year exactly the icestorm down here with just 20 mph wind really made a bad situation into a nightmare with tree limbs and while trees coming down along with the power lines.
