ers-wxman1
Well, we already lost the deep moisture so things are looking pretty bad at the moment. That means dry air will be able to phase with the Baja low and send the deepest, most powerful, most wet moisture to NC like a Randy Jonhson hard slider. Coming in at 80kts ;-)
Kay
I'm thinking of inventing a sports drink called Baja Energy. Or maybe a band.

snowfan
Could cause panic by posting that cobb output from the 18z GFS for DCA was .39 QPF. If only it weren't true.....
Scarlet Pimpernel
That was probably the worst post in that thread...and that's saying something. Yeah, a lot of that analysis (such as it was) for the 18Z cycle was rather putrid, wasn't it? I mean, we're always a bit nervous around here on just about anything that can go wrong. Especially with how this year has gone. But in the grand scheme, there was little or no difference between 12 & 18Z. It was a chore to plow through some of those comments! All it does is make everyone else think "uh-oh!", and it spirals down from there. At least a few people got in there to right things somewhat. Funny thing is, not much more than a day ago, we were looking at zip or maybe an inch or so at best.

CAPE
I have to be in Easton all week to teach a class. My dilemma for tomorrow is whether to stay there at the school which has a nice hotel and a bar(and more snow potentially, no hassle getting back in on Tuesday) or come home tomorrow night. Its only 25 miles but I have to be in early and even tho I have a Jeep, its an SRT which means wide performance tires and not so good in snow. I would rather be home for this and have a fire going so the heat pump wont run all night. Might borrow the parents SUV

87storms
Mt Washington currently sporting a -81 wind chill. What must that be like? Instant frost bite? I ski'd killington in the winter of 93/94. One of the day's the wind chill was -40 or worse on top of the mountain. It was ridiculous. We lasted a couple of runs and that was it. I had white dots forming on my thumb and had a burning sensation for a few days after the trip as well. If you love cold you'd rethink it after that. As a young weenie, I couldn't resist catching the lift to the top of the mountain. I had no business going up there because it was my first time snowboarding lol. I just wanted to experience the wind that I could see blowing snow off the top of the mountain. Let's just say it took a while to get down. It was wild up there. Totally worth it. Last night kind of reminded me of it.

I took the boys (teens) up to Jay Peak, temp on car was -11 when we pulled in at 9 am, warmed to -4 when we left at 4 pm winds blew 20-25 all day. They came in once at noon to eat.....dedication to the sport. haha

It's really hard to keep it to model disco when this kind if event happens after such a mess of a winter. It's fine. I'd be a terrible moderator.
