If Jeb's rant does not win post of the year it is an outrage. In my 10 years reading weather boards i have never read something so funny. It did have me fear for his mental state though if even one word was serious.

The funny thing is that I think Jeb could easily top that post with one more cup of coffee in him. He may take gold, silver, and bronze this year. Clean sweep

Agreed.  I think Jebman should win something for best post/rant of the year, hands down!  That was quite the amazing literary work I have to say!

If there's a prize, it should be to send Jeb to Boston for a week to help them dig out.  With a bronze-plated shovel of course.  High quality stuff.  He himself mentioned they don't know s*it about how to shovel, here's the chance for them to get a clinic on how it's done!  He'd be able to get a snow fix and show 'em how it's done all at the same time! :snowing:

Ugh...I can relate! With our daughter (she's 11 now)...been there, done that, have the puke-stained T-shirt to prove it :lmao: I can recall the spiking fevers and her not being able to hold anything down (including that Pedialyte stuff) when she was very young. And the hospital visits late at night, once she got so dehydrated they had to give her an IV.

She had strep throat a few times to the point they recommended having her tonsils out 5 years ago, which did help. However, she got it again back this past November along with the attendant fever, and missed 4 days of school. At least she could keep up with the homework, the teachers were cool with sending stuff via e-mail so she wouldn't fall behind.

The trials of parenthood. I remember having to put my daughter in a tub of cool water to relieve her fever. And having to use an inhaler every time she caught a cold because she was so susceptible to infection.

I hope your daughter has seen the last of those sore throats. She sounds like a trooper!!!

Hands down, I'd say you guys are too nice lol.

I was definitely not serious about my 'rant'.

It's just that.....

1) I am extremely jealous of Boston's snow, and I know they will get a lot more. Eventually they'll have 90 inches on a level. THIS winter.

2) That poster came in our subforum and pretty much laughed at our lack of snow.

3) I became slightly upset, and went on a small rant.

I DON'T really want Bostonians to get smushed by a bus sliding on slippery streets, I DON'T really want any Bostonians to fall into the cold water and die.

Now, I DO want Boston to have a warm weather wave and lose all their snow BUT with no loss of life. I AM jealous as hell of all of Boston's deep snow. I want to dig snow so bad. I want to enjoy a long, leisurely jebwalk all while saying WOW WOW WOW about forty billion times while gawking at all the DEEP snow and drifts over my head and wallowing in snow at 1pm right in front of Bostonians lol.

Bostonian: "Who the hell are you? Wtf are you doing in the snow?"

Jeb: "I'm getting my snow fix. I'm from Virginia where it does not snow."

Thanks.  Yeah, the trials of parenthood!  Sounds like you've had very similar experiences in that regard.  Pretty scary to worry about bad infection with a cold, too.  Funny you mentioned it, but when I was growing up I recall having to take cold baths for fevers (before things like acetaminophen and ibuprofen were widespread...thank goodness for those now!).

Our daughter has definitely had to be a trooper now and then, but I think all kids are in situations like that.  Somehow, they get through, sometimes with far less worry than their parents experience!  The strep throat was kind of bad years ago when she was younger which is why they recommended removing her tonsils.  It's not a guarantee to end that, but it cuts way back on it happening.  When she got it a couple of months ago, it had been a few years since the last time.  So that's good.

A month or so ago my kid came down with very mild flu, but high fever. She ended up having fever dreams and was hallucinating. Just staring into space and laughing uncontrollably. Her fever broke a few hours after that, thank goodness.

Yikes, that is seriously scary!  Glad it didn't get worse and the fever broke.  Those spiking 104-105 degree fevers are nerve wracking, and getting into trip to the emergency room territory (which we've had to do a time or two).

12Z Euro has midday temps on Sunday of 0 to +5F and winds of 25-55 mph in the high ground of Garrett Co. Wind chills -20 to -30. Doesn't show any precip falling, but plenty of snow depth for blowing and drifting. If this looks to hold, I may try and talk the family into doing some hiking there on Sunday.

To each their own and all, but this s**t makes little to any sense.

Lol, I like winter weather. What can I say ?

We spent a weekend in a cabin near Blackwater Falls in Jan 2007, after a torch winter to that point, and conditions were like the ones progged this weekend. Good times, and then came back to six weeks of a backloaded winter. The other day, my wife asked if we could do it again. She is tired of the frozen 1" snow cover and storms that have mostly petered out here this year. That was all I needed to hear. Weather forecast sounds ideal. Our retirement plans are to join her family in Alaska, so take that into account also, lol.

As much as I love snow other then taking my kids sledding and out to play in it I have no desire to be outside other than taking the occasional walk. I do however want it to be as cold as possible for as long as possible after it snows for obvious reasons.
