Eskimo Joe
Tomorrow is going to be a fun day. Sharp cold front, rapidly decreasing temperatures, windy as heck and even a quick coating to perhaps inch of snow.
Voyager
Just saw that there is a high wind watch up for Sunday. Says potential for up to 60 mph gusts.
NortheastPAWx
Wouldn't be surprised if some areas in the northern tier are in the negatives for some 36 hours. TEMPERATURES...ONLY RISING INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS...AT BEST...TODAY. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW ZERO AGAIN EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...AND WILL REMAIN BELOW ZERO THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON. NortheastPAWx
JM just pointed this out on the NYC forum - the PSU E-wall now has zoomed in views of the GFS like it does the NAM. Six-panel look to hr144. Here's how it appears for the cold Monday AM:
pawatch
Well PSU in the past the models would usually trend west - baby steps...
PennMan
12z GFS next week moved [bob Uecker]juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a bit northwest.[/bob Uecker] (12z top, 6z bottom) I was just about to mention that shift...brought it back far enough to get precip into SEPA. Definitely still worth watching over the next few days.

Eskimo Joe
The low of the Great Lakes / St. Lawrence Valley will help to nudge that west a bit more, but the prospects for a major snow are low still.

I agree but that was a major shift at a still far-off time.

Itstrainingtime
Back in the days leading up to the Super Bowl and what looked like was going to be a major statewide snowstorm, I posted thoughts from Joe Lundberg who was convinced that the storm was likely going to be much farther north than the models had it, and it would result in far less snow than what the models were projecting. He nailed it. Today he posted his thoughts for next week. He thinks the ridge axis is going to be farther west than what is being shown right now, and that areas that appear to be high and dry next week most likely will not be. Translation...he thinks this storm is coming.
NortheastPAWx
Like the GFS, EURO moved a good bit closer but still a ways away. Come on, don't shaft us this time...
pasnownut
Like the GFS, EURO moved a good bit closer but still a ways away. Come on, don't shaft us this time... but you already punted.... now you gotta sit on the sidelines.....we got this !! just sit back and enjoy... all kidding aside, this one still has some flips n flops left. just dont see how a further north correction cant be had yet. My guess is that overnight runs saturday/sunday will likely be when we start to know if we all get some extra loving from mo nature....or just more of the same. . until then its just watchin models.
