I have a pinched nerve in the right side of my neck. Been dealing with it for a few weeks now. I've been treating it everyday and I go see a Chiropractor every other day during the week. Been a rough go.

Hope that gets better for you real soon. Had the same type of thing on the left side of my neck a couple of years ago that was bad enough I had to take FMLA time. It can be a really tough go that wears you down over a period of time. So I hope it doesn't drag on for you. Good news is it can clear up just as quickly as it comes on.

Thanks. I am getting better slowly, but earlier this week the pain was torture. Been rough for classes, but professors have been very understanding and accommodating. Doc told me no long computer time, so tough to analyze the forecast and do my 2 jobs which need the computer. Can't wait to feel 100% again.

In other news, CTP pulling the trigger on WWA for the LSV including LNS, THV and MDT. 1/10" ice and up to 1" of snow.

I also had that... a partially herniated C5 and nerve impingement.  I still have bad days and it's been over a year, but for me physical therapy was huge for getting mobility back.  Good luck man!

Not sure about this WWA... feels kinda pitiful.

I think this was one of my favorite posts i've seen this winter... words to live by hahaha.

there is more to life than snow. Look at zwyts. He left the board. You have to know when to cut your losses and move on. Snow is like love...when you least expect it..it will come. Stop chasing

Ouch. I at least don't have a herniated disk which is good news. My neck is stiff with loss of curvature though, so they told me my neck was prone to locking up. I've had that happen a few times in my life. No fun there. I hope you feel better and thanks again for the best wishes.

As far as the advisory, it's pretty low end, but ice is ice. Doesn't take much to cause a major headache. I think roads should be fine in general. Unsalted areas in shady regions and side streets may see a bit of accretion, but the majority will be on sidewalks and bridges/overpasses. The usual suspects. Still bears watching. Temperature is no where near what has been called for areas east of MDT. Sitting at 38/29 here at the Ville.

That's funny since it comes from the guy who holds the record for canceling winter on a message board.

I'm stunned really haha. What would winter be without some gold from Ji  :lmao:

i have had multiple back surgeries. I crushed the nerves at S1 L5. I have a condition called complex regional pain syndrome. to put it in simple terms I always have pain.

temp is 40f and it looks like a light drizzle

Ouch. Sorry to hear that Rick. I knew you had an injury of some sorts because you've mentioned it a few times in the past from what I read. Hopefully the pain is a tolerable level, but it stinks no matter the level.

Calm winds and snowpack have allowed the surface temps to creep back down to around 36-37F here, despite mesoanalysis showing +9C (48F) overhead at the 925 level. What a tremendous temp gradient over the Mid-Atl/NE region as a whole, Nearly 20 degrees difference between Meadville and Erie, PA. Go up to Buffalo and it's around 15. And then of course go south of the Sus Valley and it's full on spring fling down around DC.

Meandering around 40, no precip...just take this "event" out back and shoot it, please. When's the next one that blows up into a New England special :axe:

That would be on Thursday...

Looks like starting next Friday thru the weekend we dont get out of the teens during the day and nothing above 5 at night.....and probably not one storm in sight either

There looks like there's going to be a couple snow opportunities that accompany the couple shots of arctic air progged to overtake the region later this week. Currently looks more like the garden variety northern branch light snowfalls but with a little bit more moisture one or both waves could deliver a swath of something advisory worthy. These waves could be well positioned to try to redevelop off the New England coast and continue to dump snow on Boston and surrounding areas.

Some model rumblings of a bigger storm way out near the 8-10 day realm. This was pretty far south in yesterday's suite but today's suite has the waves already in a familiar spot running pretty close to the area. Won't be jumping too hard on this for awhile yet, but it seems that Feb 17-18th period might have the next bigger event potential for better or worse.

I have been dealing with my pain so long, I am used to it. Fortunately, I have hobbies and interests that I can do and I have steady employment. I just had to change what I do and not feel sorry for my self. there is always someone worse off.

light rain and 38.8 here at chez Rick

Am ready to call this a complete and total bust for UNV - not only for precip types, but total precip for the event. Realize it's not over yet, but HRRR shows essentially nada for us going forward. That includes rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow - whatever.

33.4/32 here and 32 at the airport. Nothing freezing here on any surface - yet. Realize there's potential for freezing on some surfaces ahead so the advisory makes sense. But frozen precip going forward looks negligible from what I'm seeing. That said, I don't know enough to have much confidence in anything I've just written. Uneducated guesses are permitted here, right? :)

CTPs latest update basically says what you're saying. Looks like there was way less precip overall than what was expected
