WestCoaster
Foot line up to the Toronto lakeshore on the 18z NAM Kuchera augmented map. Don't believe it for a second but for eye candy sake. And god bless the DTW-TOL corridor. I wish this wasn't the NAM... the NAM always overdoes QPF
Whitelakeroy
I'm setting my disappointment line at 3". Anything north of there is sweet gravy. What's yours? 10". I do the same. Mine is 6" for this storm (up from 4" when I went to bed last night). I am just not buying the those 9"-14" maps for MBY.
stormtrackertf
I know its easy to go 8-12" because 6-10/8-12 is the common range given for many a big snowstorm here, but I think its going to be depend how things start out tomorrow. Depending how much snow has fallen by the 1pm observation may dictate if they actual go all into those amounts. I mean, if we are at like 3-5" by lunchtime tomorrow and have another 20 hours of snow to go (with the heaviest to come Sunday evening), they will have no choice to bite on 12"+ amounts. Temps will be in the teens most of the storm and it wont be pixie dust, so I imagine some fluff to the snow ratios. Time to turn on the Wyandotte snow magnet. Whitelakeroy
always fun to watch.... Now that is cool to watch as it shows 2 separate dry air surges in SEMI. Very cool. Looks like that second surge stops just short of MBY (please let it be so).

No reason to go 12"+ crazy at this point like you are saying there is plenty of time to adjust higher tomorrow. Heck 90% of the population hates snow and wouldn't know the difference between 8-12" and 10-14" or even 12-16". The will just hate it regardless. WestCoaster
What "winter storm name" will this one get in America? They always have the oddest names.. Juno, Nemo... I nominate Winter Storm "Laverna"... the Roman goddess of thieves... stealing moisture from 2 different bodies of water and stealing the "credibility" (or what's left..) of the Canadian weather agency... Hoosier
Been a while since I've made a map. Obviously, this is not to be thought of as any sort of official forecast. Go big or go home as they say.
Stebo
I think that DTX is a bit too light up my way, the zone forecast has 5-8" storm total, I am thinking at least 3" higher than that for Macomb County south of m59.

TugHillMatt
always fun to watch.... This is an awesome map. It's cool to watch the storm unfold, according to the model. Been a while since I've made a map. Obviously, this is not to be thought of as any sort of official forecast. Go big or go home as they say. snowmap.png Nice map, Hoosier! I miss the days of people making their own maps. Especially the ridiculous ones that the kid in CT would make all the time in the early 2000's. TugHillMatt
It looks like the last 8 hours of the storm makes the difference: who gets in that last heavy band caused by forcing will get the foot plus.
