Cringe-worthy for many.  I think the snow amounts are too low in eastern CT/NW RI, but the general gradient looks reasonable.

I'd never make a map that irresponsible. My final call 6-12", region wide, with isolated higher amounts near my area, and some oes snowbelts (back end)

pretty sure he didn't mean it that way, hopefully no one complains because you get a couple more, the last storms jackpot fetish rejected posts were insane.

How is that cringe-worthy?

It still gives even HFD over to like TAN over a half inch of liquid as snow.

Lord once the snows came it's been Ayer's winter ...  We are near or at jackpot during the blizzard at 34" total, now we are center amid that maroon 12-15" in that graphic (NE Mass - N Middlesex Co.)  The snow pack has sublimated and settled all the way to perhaps 20" ... But settling another foot on top with these mega banks and narrowed streets is going to be an interesting civil affair to say the least...

I have been dealing with home PC issues.  Does anyone know where the "card reader cable" is ...?   I'm supposed to unplug the PC, disconnect that cable; boot up the PC with said cable disconnected; wait 5 minutes, then boot it down; reconnect the cable, then boot the system back up.  It's all supposed to reset a memory card that HP's systems have a known flaw of getting scrambled.  Symptoms are freezing shortly after starting the system, which is identical to what I am getting.  Only now, it's gotten so bad that the PC stopped sending any signal at all to the monitor.  I can go through the steps above...no problem, but once I have the case open, where f is that reader cable -

anyway, this storm system is impressively over-taken the Midwest-Lakes-eventually ...us.  Chicago and surrounding 'burbs are under a blizzard warning.  Large amount of real-estate in said areas under warning for 8-16", which if verified is really quite a major output.

That said I think we're all riding too much on small RGEM details. If some of those snow accum maps verified this year I'd be on my way to a record.....heck I may be anyway but you know what I mean.

I think the detail to take is that there could be a decent gradient from 6 to near 12" centered on either side of the pike by maybe 10 miles or so as the crow flies. I agree that you can't be a stickler to details, but it will matter for some.

It can be overdone in the jack areas sometimes...it was in the friday system before the blizzard when it gave a chunk of us 12"+...but it had the idea right that we'd do ok.

I don't think the general idea has changed too much. Basically a very intense front end thump with some sleet making it almost to the pike (my guess is just south)...8-12" for BOS-ORH up to S NH...perhaps just a shade less on the northern parts of the sleet taint, but not that different.
