SouthCoastMA
Praise the lord, now only if the EC can trend that way. It already is the coldest model.
WeatherWilly
I told nam I was freezing my butt off.....I guess it listened.
dendrite
It's hitting the northern periphery pretty hard. DSM has been overperforming tonight.
HIPPYVALLEY
I've only seen them posted here...I rarely watch the TV broadcasts anymore. What do they even say with them when the graphic comes up? "Blah...blah...blah... here are some of the potential snowfall totals some of the major models are indicating for whatever day's system...blah...blah...blah." The better on air mets will pick which models they are leaning towards and explain but all the public sees is the highest possible total. I rarely watch either but it seems to have just become a "thing" the past few years. They were not doing it when I lived in Boston.

Tolland Death Band
This storm looks gnarly on radar. Not often you see that much moisture coming due E out of the Midwest like that
weathafella
Nam has cf just east of BOS in the morning focusing on some excellent rates.
weathafella
Man that's a snow bomb! Nam sucks though...another solution. Hasn't had run to run consistency in 10 years.
weathafella
Anyway the trend appears to have stopped on the nam.
40/70 Benchmark
Nam has cf just east of BOS in the morning focusing on some excellent rates. You know what I have been reflecting on intermittently over the course of the day....the snowpack throughout NE right now...wall-to-wall. For instance, ACK got 1' of bullet-proof pack in the blizzard...not stand to get another 5-6" of paste. Jesus....not often they build a pack like that... weathafella
Nam qpf now mirroring euro.
ORH_wxman
Anyway the trend appears to have stopped on the nam. Hard to cal anything a "trend" on the NAM given its lack of consistency...lol. But yeah, this was definitely a tick south/colder than 18Z.

TheSnowman
Oh God I don't like the NAM. The 850 0C is 15 miles More north of 18z ANDY it's less precipitation. 0.6-0.9 or so.
CoastalWx
It is gonna drop like a rock after 4-5pm in ern MA. Wow is that cold overnight.

ORH_wxman
Nam qpf now mirroring euro. Yeah basically an 8 hour QPF bomb of 0.8-1.0" is what I'd go right now...the stuff that is like 1.3-1.5 isn't very credible to me. Not unless we get some sort of significant CCB development like the GGEM had shown...not just a parting inch or two of fluff.

The 4 Seasons
Agree. The 10-14" crowd is going to fall on their face. Some never learn. This just isn't that type of storm. Never was. 6-10 wide swath with some pockets of 11 or 12 is most likely.
40/70 Benchmark
I'd go 6-10", with isolated amours up to 1'.
moneypitmike
Hard hitting and quick. That's now these events tend to roll. No fuss. No muss. Drop 6-12 and move on, the way a swfe was meant to be.

sankaty
NAM seems to keep my area almost all snow. Verbatim, a chance for an hour or two of sleet, but after most of the heaviest has already fallen. It looks like it wants to center jump a little earlier vs. the 18z run, which makes all the difference for central CT.
