VBsurf
I know its starting to be nowcast time but nice increase in moisture again on 18Z GFS for SEVA.
Portsmouth Weather
I know its starting to be nowcast time but nice increase in moisture again on 18Z GFS for SEVA. I agree. I'm a bit surprised the NWS doesn't seem concerned about tomorrow morning into the afternoon. It appears to my weenie eyes that the rain will quickly shift to snow in NE NC & SE VA with temps dropping quickly during the day. That appears to be a recipe for roads icing over while people are at work/school. It wouldn't take much of a shift to make this a major problem. SeVa
Looks like some flurries into HR tomorrow. Basically just some mood flakes in the air. EDIT: 18z GFS juiced up a bit.
crainjd
00Z NAM appears to be a hair north, but it may be a case of too little, too late
crainjd
South side now in the .1-.25 band, so maybe 1-2" if we get lucky
VABILLUPS1
Looks like all the short range models getting juicier, keeping precip in past 12p now for SE VA/NE NC. 1" definitely in play now.
WEATHER53
What's going on. Radar really filling in generally and seemingly repeating itself in that one area?
Portsmouth Weather
Have been watching the HRRR and RAP today looking for trends and both have trended substantially northwest with the precip field. There now seems to be some interaction with energy swinging in from the west. I think we may be in for a surprise in SE Va

rmcwahoo
Had some flurries for a little bit this morning in West End of city of Richmond. Got to think this is our week to max out whatever opportunities we may have. After this pattern, and calendar, going to get much more difficult for us. Let's hope this is a good one
crainjd
Thursday is starting to look really good for SEVA...even the 6Z GFS has us in some snow
VABILLUPS1
Wed. night/Thurs. - big hit for NC/Southern 1/2 of VA on the 12z Euro. All snow, biggest event of the season for Hampton Roads for sure if it verifies. All other models in line or coming in line. Even some wiggle room for the seasonal north trend on this one. Classic. Ian
Welcome. This is a place to go where you won't have the usual DC/Nova asshats thumbing their nose at anything outside of their narrow view.First time in here but ouch.

Snow Threat
First time in here but ouch.No ill will toward the DC folk but perhaps you should review the tone, attitude and animosity aimed at the "RIC and south" crowd (by most, not all) that enjoy the insight of the NOVA bunch and lurk there for good model discussions among other interesting rants. For me, eh, it only bothers me fractionally. I'll still lurk and enjoy the good info.

Staged
We could definitely use some additional plowing! I came down, last year I think it was, when you all got 10" or whatever. It was crazy, I had to turn down people asking me to plow because I had so many jobs to do.

crainjd
SE VA and NC gets nam'd again at 12z. a cool 14" storm. If even half that verified, it would be nice. Whether its right or wrong, the NAM hasn't flinched in the last 3-4 runs.
olafminesaw
The Ukmet has 4-6" for SE VA, a solid step in the right direction. Consensus seems to be growing for a 4-8" event, particularly in extreme SE VA
