January 26-28 Blizzard Observations/Nowcast

32hrs of snow now. Started at 11am Monday AM for me.

Lots of reports of 30" plus from Eastern CT, Worcester, Grafton, Middlesex, Essex Counties in MA. I'm guessing Hillsboro, Rockingham, maybe Merrimack Counties in NH and a few in Maine. Toss in a county in RI or two and I think this is the most widespread 30+ storm on record, no?

Just got back in from a nice hour's walk. If they have winter in Heaven, this is what it's like every day. As an aside, I think my rods and cones are all confused by the snow. As I look at my computer screen, I'm getting this weird cascading effect. Anyone else experience this?

That's conservative, probably 16 actually. My neighbor is arguing that it is 18. 4 inches when back from morning walk, shoveled then 6 more by 2, then 6 more from 2-5. There were some enhanced echoes over north Merrimack this morn. Take a ride down 127 to the Salisbury Webster line.

Thats a 2 foot bird bath standing up next to a weber grill and a 3 ft one laying on its side. The drift is about 4.5 ft deep

Boston had 20.8 at 1pm.   I probably will come in at 25" my guess and maybe 2" more this eve.  27" total will be my guess.

If this keeps up, and we pick up another few inches, wouldn't surprise me if someone reported 3 feet in this area.  Might be close to that now.

How does the impact of this one compare to 1/05 and 2/13?

This one seems worse bit the other 2 were on weekends greatly minimizing the impact.

Still wild here in Scituate. Homes inundated and blizzard conditions persisting! Power lines are down and most have evacuated here along ocean drive. Huge waves over topping seawall, as well. Travel ban is in effect and shelters are opened as a result of the aforementioned.
