MainePhotog
While this incredibly intense band seems like it will never stop, another is heading straight for me off the GOM! Let it RIP!
MainePhotog
Every time we get a reinforcing shot into the band the winds jump to 40 mph Indeed. Gusting between 35 and 45 mph here. And when it does, all sense of visibility is diminished to mere feet.

geo1
This is not to take away from any of the other subforums and it is not a comparison. But this group...all of you. Kill it. Collectively it's a very, very rare day where this gang of pros, soon to be pros, amateurs and hobbyists miss a forecast. Everyone plays a part, and if you go back and look at the last xx years...there's a rare day where something breaks to a surprise solution that someone here wasn't on top of. Today and yesterday case in point. You guys are the best - we're very fortunate to have the pros, and the resource in general. Such a great team.... There's a level of technical knowledge, theory, experience, and local climo knowledge that is just indispensable. It really is.

ksingh0311
Well it read 30.5 inches here in my place at 2.47 pm. If it continues like that pretty soon it will be off-scale because my ruler is only 34 inches. PS: Is there anyone here in ORH who can verify this? Let me add to this by saying that this has been probably the best run Storm for us that I can recall. With the huge number of posters it was nice to see the mix of amateurs/pros give their thoughts. This is exactly how these storms should go and should be used as a model for future ones.
