Guessing around an inch by looking out the window but will measure on the snowboard in a bit when I go out to take the dog for a walk. Snowing what I'd call light to moderate. Temp has continued to rise here to 28 degrees. Dew Point of 27. Humidity is 96 percent. Winds are up to 17mph sustained gusting to 28. Starting to get pretty nasty out and pretty stoked for that band about to roll in from Block Island.

Starting to hear "howling" winds here...just had a couple shake the windows.

Main streets in Boston have just become snowcovered within the past 10 minutes. Wind picking up as well. Staying in the South End tonight and tomorrow night for work.

Snow is increasing in intensity now. Gusty. Streets are still wet however.

Here's a little local news for everyone. Haven't seen this mentioned by news outlets!

Just heard from a friend that they are forcing people to evacuate flood prone areas of Scituate (02066).

Guess it was a good idea to leave hull. I am only feet above sea level there.

No accumulation to speak of--crappy flakes and all.  But, getting some good 'puffs of fairy dust' blowing off the roof.  A sign of drifts to come I hope.

Just got an automated call from Town Manager..saying they are expecting hurricane force winds.. I mean that is maddening. They said they are expecting many downed wires..WTF..maddening

Pretty widespread 29-31" means across the area.

I doubt there will be much of power issues inland.    The wind will keep the light fluffy snow from building on branches, and the impact gusts on leafless branches is relatively small.

 

Picking up in intensity and best flakes yet.

i left nyc up 91 this morning....would have loved to have stayed but couldnt afford to be trapped for the week.....

the blizzard signs were epic.

21° in Dracut...on the way home from dinner it was a solid 4° cutoff at home as we headed west home from Methuen/Lawrence. At what point could temperature maps help locate a CF? Or am I way too early?
