Who is we've exactly? I don't have a climo anywhere near yours so I don't what that means. And this isn't just any bust dude, it's the worst bust we've ever had and it's not even remotely close.

Not sure if you are serious or not, but this so-called "bust" should provide you incentive to hone your skills as a meteorologist and deliver a better product (forecast, models, et cetera) and earn fame, fortune and the admiration of friends, family and the public at large. In your memoirs, you can write about your bitter disappointment today and how the event served to propel you to greatest. Stay the course!!

Mod/heavy snow falling again.

With the exception of a bit of light snow falling for short time, this storm has been relentless here.  Nice size flakes right now.

Anyone waiting to take a snow depth measurement until the end of the storm without measuring at periods between the beginning and the end is not going to get a an accurate reading as this fluffy stuff compacts down pretty quickly.

I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I am pretty sure you don't know anything about totals I've had. I went almost 5 years without a 10" storm while you racked it up during '07-'08 and '08-'09 and got royally screwed in every event except 2/16/10 during '09-'10. This decade I've been much more fortunate but I've seen plenty of busts too like March 2013 and Jan. 2014 and 2015. Anyway, that's the last I'll be posting about this because I don't want to derail the obs. thread.

Didn't you get smoked Jan '11? The norlun on the 9th, 15-20+" on 1/12 and a foot 1/27? Deep deep cover. And how about Oct '11? Just human nature to sear the painful events into the brain, but CT has seen some amazing events the past few years.

15.9/14

26"

1"/hr

Amazing how you can salvage 1"hr rates at the most meager radar returns imaginable on the back ends of these rotting deformation bands.

The dendrites are just so exquisitely formed, that they compensate for meager fall rates.

I think they're blowing to you below the rad beam under N winds...you have some distance from the BOX radar. I think your beam height must be about 3000ft. It happens here a lot under those deform bands. Band overhead...-SN. It moves just to my NW on the 0.5deg scan...+SN. I was pulling for you to get 30" last night...those bands are fun.

Well, I've lost interest in meteorology due to this storm. It's probably for the best since I am incompetent would never have gotten a good job in the field anyway with my worthless diploma from Western Connecticut State University. Ended up with 5.6" via the snowboard here but I think a little blew off so probably more like 6 or 6.5". The worst bust I've ever seen and it isn't close. Every TV met. should come on air and start with an apology like Geoff Fox in 2010:

lol.

That's like someone getting out of professional sports because their team lost one game.  Or it's like the financial adviser giving up on his profession because of one bad investment choice made.
